Evaluation

Evaluation of the answer sheets
A matter of grave concern,
Not only to the student
Also to the teacher.
Whilst most students puke out the memorized matter,
Walk away without tension,
Some others await the result with apprehension.

Teachers belong to an esoteric species,
They belong to a profession noble,
Although nobility rests with only a few,
In the present days of democracy,
The commoner appears to be more common.

Evaluation is an exercise,
Planned with meticulous detail,
All teachers are involved,
Albeit with varied emotions,
Some reluctant evaluators, some rapacious,
Some others duty bound.

The ‘D- day’ dawns
Brings forth a spate of mixed emotions
Some caused by the teachers
Others created by the students.
A few more projected by the parents.

There is a question that is unanswered
Is the unhappy student,
A victim of his own faults?
Is he a victim of circumstances?
Or is it the system, which is to be blamed?
